cheetah conservation? (13)
mikeee (39)
Taken at a Cheetah "conservation" park in Namibia. A family there rescues "pest" cheetahs that would normally be shot (for eating farmers livestock). The guy that runs the place reminded me of a gun-hoe, Afrikaner version of steve irwin, crocidle hunter. This was taken from the back of his ute/pickup truck just before feeding time. You stand in the back of the vehicle amongst various meats (mostly cut up horse and zebra's). The guy then gets out of the vehicle with a stick (to protect him from the packs of cheetahs) and grabs chunks of meat beofre throwing them to the animals. Not sure about the "conservation" part of the cheetah parks name. You would understand me if you go there..... feel free to workshop!

I cropped closer to the head, and I sharpened the image a bit. In a way, the closer perspective does bring out the "in your face" feel, but I am kind of sorry to lose the curve of his body, which I find very suggestive of a predatory pose. So I don't know if I like my workshop or not.
