I took this picture of the CATTLE EGRET in the paddyfeild near my home.

The CATTLE EGRET,( BUBULCUS IBIS ) is pure white in colour with black legs and yellow beak. It affects marshy lands,but is mostly seen with grazing cattle, stalking energetically alonside the animal and lunging out to seize the insects distubed by them. it feeds on insects like grasshoppers, frogs, lizards, fish etc.

Very good exposure on this cattle egret, and sharp details too.
I like his pose with the slightly outstretched neck.
Good capture, Smitha, and TFS. : )

Excellent focus on the head area, Smitha. The eye is rendered very well here.
Never mind the thin strands of foliage in the foreground; they lend a natural touch to the portrait of this elegant bird.
