Congratulations with your one year anniversary and with the 58 anniversary of a free and democratic India.
I am gald you are showing us part of your new country. This is a really stunning photo which shows the beauty of a desert perfectly. The shapes of these rocks always impresses me. The composition and colors are wonderful with excellent details and wonderful soft lighting.
Thank you for all the beauty you have shown us in the past 365 days. Thank you also for your kind words in the critiques and notes.

Congratulations on your first anniversary with TN!
You celebrate it with a fine shot of an interesting desert landscape showing the effects of erosion and weathering and a few hardy bushes.
Even here there is interesting life: plants, birds, insects and reptiles.
Those acacia bushes, or whatever they are may be worth a closer look.
I look forward to your coming years' postings.
Take care mf,
Best wishes, Ivan
I sincere hope for a lot more anniversaries of you here on TN. You have showed us already really fine images.
I like the panoramic look of this one. It appears te be a very nice format for landscapes. The clolurs of the sky and rocks match really well together. Excellent sharpness and a fine composition too. Keep on going!

It is a sheer privilege, as a fellow TN member, to be able to say
"CONGRATULATIONS with your 1st ANNIVERSARY"
and it is a great honour, as a friend, to have been part of this year and to say,
"May there still be many more" my friend.
As you said, a lot of water has passed under the bridge, but that has been wonderful and refreshing water. More than what you have in your photo of the desert (chuckle).
Anyway, I have to thank you for all your superb contributions you have made to this site. Your prolific work rate have seen 266 photos and 46 workshops posted to date (I only did 91 & 67 respectively in the same time so you utterly gave me carrots). Not that there was any competition, but I used my stats merely as a comparator. Further you have written an amazing 4,782 critiques (a whopping average of 13 per day) where you shared your remarkable knowledge and insights with us, which just further cement the fact that you are a valuable TN'er. Then there are still the many other forums and replies you participated in.
You have shown us a new face of your home country India and a fair share of your current place of residence Saudi Arabia. We have seen just about every little fly that came within shooting distance from you. But looking through your portfolio I just realised anew how great and far reaching your contribution was. You have shown us such a weird and wonderful collection of the fauna and flora you were in touch with over the last year.
These include: Landscapes, mountains, rivers, waterfalls and even some seascapes. You introduced us to some wonderful butterflies, dragonflies, robber flies, houseflies, flesh flies, mating flies, and probably a couple who did not survived long after the photo shoot (those are the flies I liked the best – dead flies). We’ve seen grasshoppers, spiders, rough & tough cockroaches, and an array of other interesting bugs, beetles, bees, etc. To round it all of we also had the joy to see some leopards, primates, and birds from you lens.
So, the proof is in the pudding – as this is one impressive portfolio. We say thanks and salute you.
BTW, your 'desertscape' is just great too.
Very well done and TFS.

Congrats on a full year in TN!
But maybe National Day is an even bigger occation... Congrats for sure!
And this is a fine image, featuring a desert landscape this time...
Well framed, great texture gives fine details and the beautiful typical colour is nicely reproduced!
On this day of India's 58th Anniversary I really wish the Indian people peace and happiness in the future!
Then I'd also like to congratulate you on your 1st Anniversary and thank you for many great photos and sincere, engaging, interesting and often humourous comments and notes you have posted so far.
I very much like this desert landscape from Saudi Arabia, beautiful shapes and colours and a very beautiful panoramic composition.
TFS and all the best wishes, Ulla

hello mr thakur,
first accept my best wishes for a happy republic day,
another wish for celebrating your first anniversary with trek nature,
and yet another wish for posting such a lovely picture,
this shot looks lovely with the tones of white & blue in the sky above the carved sandstone by mother nature,
your note is excellent as usual,
thanks of sharing and best wishes & hope to wish you many more anniversaries here,
Happy National Day, Ram and Happy TN-day, my friend!
And what a beautiful way to celebrate it!
Not only do these carvings in the sand look terrific, but also may have a aymbolic value: like a regular person going towards Mecca, your 1 year anniversary on TN is your road to the Mecca as a photographer...if you know what i'm trying to say :)
Anyway, the panorama is a beauty! The colors look outstanding, the composition is terrific and the presentation wonderful.
Very well done, my friend!
Bravo, TFS and To many more!

Congratulations Ram for the first anniversary among us.
Beautiful image with brightness and clarity depicting this imposing desert so particular for what you comment in your notes.
I like the point of view and framing, although with less sky, you could attempt the publication of LP version.
My best wishes my friend!

Very nice capture. Beautiful lanscape with good exposure and lovely colors. Sharp.
my congratulations to the celebration of your "first birthday" here at TN! Nice to read about the coincidence of this date as India's national anniversary - so I am very pleased to be invited to celebrate these two anniversaries with you my friend.
You have contributed a lot to TN during this short period of time in very educating, well describing and heart warmingly compassionate images, notes, and encouraging critiques.
Looking forward to many more years to follow in that way.
Thank you also for this rare presentation of the Saudi Arabian mind opening beauty of landscape. Not many of us are familiar with that country that has been your second homeland for the past four year.
With best regards,
This double anniversary does the January 26th a very important day! A beautitul photo of this desolated place for Nature, you show us today.
During this year you have been always an active member. Your very varied posts covered not just Nature itself but its inner and intimate echoes in your experience, what gives a immense and warm dimension to your work.
Happy anniversary my friend. I'll stay on line to see next year post!
Happy one year anniversary on TN! :-)
By the words on your note, I realize we all feel almost the same about this site, that so many good things and moments has given to us.
So here goes a triple congratulation, for your days in TN, for your country's independece, and of course for this magnificent picture.
You choose a beautiful landscape from Saudi Arabia, I like a lot that mountains and rock formations, their colors, and the good composition made to show it to us.
Hope to see you here for a very long time,

I congratulate you to yesterday's double anniversary :-)
Your landscape with panoramic view of rocky mountains is amazing.Details and colours are splendid.
Well done! Thanks for sharing and for nice note too.
Greetings and great weekend.
I wish you a very happy anniversary to you and your country :) This is a beautiful picture to go along with a very nice note. I must agree with you on all points you mentioned about TN and those great friends we meet along the way. We should organize a world TN’s meeting and make a fund rising to pay for this trip :))) Wouldn’t it be beautiful? Or, you can all come to Mont Saint-Hilaire and we'll have a big party in my back yard, lol! I wish this could be possible...
This is a very nice scenery to celebrate this event. Exposure is great, details, POV and DOF too. I like this soft sky and beautiful clouds also. Thanks to you to be such a good friend here. Ciao,
You always find the right words to speak to the heart of people and to present various subjects, always accompanied by an interesting note.
In this picture you show your actual surrounding with colours quite in contrast with your Indian pictures. I like desert pictures, and this one is well presented, with a large part reserved to the sky; beautiful rock-formations too.

All the best for you on the occasion of both anniversaries. I think there will be many more to celebrate with you in the future, here on TN.
But of course I remember that even if it's been only 58 years of the Republic of India - it's been also thousands of years of culture and history in your great country since the Saraswati-Sindhu Civilization.
Yes my friend - whether people in Europe know it or no - Indian culture is like mother culture for all of us.

I would like to add my congratulations to the many you have - deservedly - received.
I am heartened by your wonderful desert shots! As I stated in my critique of the closeup shot, the sight of the red sands and cliffs against the blue sky warms my cockles. AND it brings back many many memories! Those are SO good to have in the cöld winter here.
Salaam! Abu Jason.
PS Only one suggestion: include "BUSHVELD" in the categories ;) after all we do see some green ...
