[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
I took this in a small pond, there were just the one swan and several ducks, the yellow Iris were in bloom. It was a somewhat cloudy day, if my memory serves me. This is my very first swan photo, not as easy a task as I first thought, trying to capture a nice pose through the chain fence.

I've missed being here so will post some of my archives photos until I get outside again and find some new subjects.

Hi Lori

I would put it softly and just say, "This is about high time". It's been a while since we last seen one of your postings and we've missed you around the site.

Yeah, one always see these amazingly romantic or idyllic shots of beautiful swans in spectacular poses or surroundings and when you try to shoot a photo of one the darn bird just don't want to co-operate. Then one realise another problem that it is not so easy because of the white plumage which tends to OE rather effortlessly.

I like the swan in this lovely surroundings. You made good use of the vertical composition to show a little more of the environment and not just the swan. The colours are well defined and the reflective surface of the water acted as a good BG to enhance the bird. The overall exposure on the photo is fine, but unfortunately there are a couple of small areas on the bird that came out a little OE due to the white plumage.

Anyway, good effort and TFS.
Regards
Loot

Hi Lori,
Agree to Loot and welcome back.
The picture is very nice even if the swan is slightly OE.
Well composed, good POV and lovely colours.
Well done.

Hi Lori,
A lovely composition of the beautiful swan and its surroundings. The irises in bloom really compliment the image by adding more colour and life.Good detail and clarity and nice contrasts in shadows and light.Well done and take care.

Hi Lori,
I like so much this picture, it's a beautiful pond surrounded by that yellow lirios, the swan must be enjoying the ride.
I like a lot the way you composed the photo, and the curves formed by the light reflection on the water.
Congratulations, thanks for share and best reagrds,
JM
