balaninus elephas - it's a female, the male is more little and have more small trunk.
length: 6-10.5 mm.

the female ingot an egg into an oak acorn. the caterpillar eat the soft parts of the acorn. when the acorn drop dawn the caterpillar gnawing a hole out and digging into the ground, there he build a room and stay on diapause all the winter, until the next summer then he will pupate. after 10-15 days came out an adult weevil.
