Dryas iulia Fabricius, 1775.

My garden is frequently visited by "Three beautiful orange butterfly species!" You (so far), known only two: Agraulis vanillae and Dione juno. Today I present the third butterfly Orange, the "Dryas iulia".

I included a bonus picture of this butterfly with wings closed in WORKSHOP.

Hope you like it!

Thanks by stop and visit!

Hi Jesus,

Butterflies are not frequent visitors here so I really enjoy seeing so many different species here on TN. The perfect pose to show off the vibrant colors and elegant markings. Clarity and composition are wonderful - as always.

Splendid photo, TFS!

Bravissimo, ciao Silvio

Hello Jesus,
really a splendid view of the butterfly. Very intense colour with excellent view. I like the well opened and spread. The contrast is so well captured and shown in excellent light.
Congratulations for such a splendid scene.

Hello Jesus,
Amazing all these creatures in your garden..three very close butterfliy-species with a shape we don't have in Europe. The differences between them are not big, therefore agood picture is always the best for the ID. Colorful classical shot.
Thanks a lot to present all three species that we can compare!
Kind regards

Well done old friend Jesus! Beauty in orange! Nice! Orange is good and it is a difficult color to reproduce photographically in my opinion! Try, oversaturated it a bit and you are loosing detail, under saturated and the orange becoming quite dirty color! So, I think technically superbly executed shot! Good composition and detail! Bravo!

Sobre tu pregunta a m i foto anterior, no, no usé flash.

Bonitos colores y perfecta nitidez.

Un saludo de Antonio
