[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
hello friends, yesterday i have done this photo of
the Pileated Woodpecker that i coinsider as my best
in-flight shots, unfortunately the sun was absent

habitually i choose the shutter speed and aperture
with this photo i leaved the camera choose at my place

from the All About Birds website

« The feeding excavations of a Pileated Woodpecker
are so extensive that they often attract other birds.
Other woodpeckers, as well as House Wrens,
may come and feed there. »

Merci

Asbed

Bonjour Asbed,
This is really one of Your best in-flight shots. Great composition, this time the zoom was perfect, I mean the bird isn't small. Fine timing and sharpness. Yes, sunshine was absent, but in spite of this a photo to be proud of. Bravo.
Tfs, have a nice weekend, László

Hello Asbed,
Indeed a very good and beautiful photo. Light and colours are very nice, even without any sunshine. Good sharpness and details, composition and timing.
Regards,
Peter

Buena elección de la velocidad de disparo que permitió congelar perfectamente el ave. Un buen trabajo Asbed. Buen wkd: Josep Ignasi.

Hi Asbed.
You captured very good the position of wings and legs of this bird in moment of flight.
Well done.

Salut Asbed,
Bravo, Woody ne t'a pas échappé! On dirait qu'il sourit męme en s'envolant. Pas facile ŕ faire, tant ils sont vifs ces pics. Bon dimanche,

Hello Asbed, wonderful in-flight shot of this cute woodpecker with nice air pose and composition.
TFS and regards,
Deniz

Not a bad shot Asbed. It shows a great wing pattern. The framing is off just a bit but close. You managed to get a good background of grey trees behind him. The details not bad but there's a bit of noise in the picture. That may be because of the sun not being out. All in all a good shot Asbed. I think this is my favourite woodpecker as well. They are actually a bit scarey to be close to I find because of their size. But that's just me. LOL TFS Trevor

Hi Asbed friend,
Certainly F/8 with 1/1000s not usual in your photos. I think the brightness in this betrays the absence of the sun. However, I must say that the POV is as good as ever. Furthermore, the picture continues to project an impression of movement when viewed. I think a good result despite the difficult lighting. TFS and happy Sunday my friend Asbed, Regards form Venezuela, Jesús

Hallo Asbed
The streamline profile of this Woodpecker in flight looks like a Concorde aeroplane coming in to land, especially the way its face and neck are pushed forward. It is a great, natural shot with the white on the wings and the red on the head beautifully seen, but what I like the most in this image is the way the Woodpecker's paws are pulled up against its stomach, once again like that of a aeroplane's wheels drawn in whilst in the air. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.
Anna

Hi Asbed,

another good inflight shot and this time from an woodpecker.
Fine colours.

Bonjour Asbed,

Les arbres cadrent bien l'oiseau. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails et les couleurs du grand pic en vol. L'image est claire et nette. L'utilisation du flash aide pour faire rressortir les couleurs. Bonne journée.

Pierre
