I'm not sure but I think this was taken with my Polaroid, which was my first digital camera. Location is from my property back yard which is bisected by a primitive road. The road is hardly used, but when a car or rig went upwards into the mountains, the dust flew for hundreds of feet. Lots of traction needed and city cars have a hard time with these extreme mountain roads.

The sun was just setting here in the middle of summer...and the trees are mostly 80-90 foot tamaracks. And I was more than likely just sitting on my deck chair watching teh sunset...I did that often as soon as it got warm until the snows came. It was my way of winding down the days activities...

You can depend that the bats were already out and bombing me and depending on the weather a few yellow jackets might have stayed up towards sunset..one never knew...we didn't have mosquitoes which was a blessing...but we had views of the world which few have ever seen.

I would have to guess at EXIF info as early camera didst put them onto the data...only the date which I have saved..and image in 1.2 megapixels...Just enough to sometimes when needed, refresh my memories of my life in the woods...

Oh yes..the purple are huge bushes of Oregon Grapes..medicinally good but not much taste...

Bob

I sat and watched "Easy Rider" with my wife late friday night. The light reminds me of that, almost star like through the edge while the glow in the middle is like "HAL". A truly movie inspires shot.

Hi Bob!

Impressive sunset with interesting surroundings. Sun looks like red giant star seen from deep space. Rays of light between branches look great. I like this kind of scenes very much - I almost smell this fresh forest [and dust :-)]. It must be excellent place to live for nature lover.

hello Bob

beautiful photography shot with only 1.2 megapixels camera,
of the mystic forest, with the rays of the sun coming from
the background to the forest, i love that effect, TFS

Hello Bob, very interesting light effects!!
Love the way the light is filtering down through the trees, you can see the illuminated dust particles.
I've never before seen the red bulls eye effect that the sun has made here, as it crept into view. Quite unusual!!

Well, this looks like a small caliber bomb blast in the midst of a peaceful nature scene Bob, quite a strange effect of a sunset my friend!
Cheers,
Mehmet

Wonderful --- How you had made it?

Dear Bob,
It looks like an alien red (extra-terrestrial) brilliant light source in the midst of beautiful forest & radiating sunbeams. Thanks for posting this landscape from wilderness.
Regards-Subhash
