first signs of spring, today a clear day, on the walls heated by the sun began to appear the first insects, like this bee carpenter......

Xylocopa violacea (Linnaues, 1758)

Hello Sergio,
Superb details on the black Xylocopa violacea.
The lighting is a little harsh.
Regards
Pierre

Your spring is way ahead ours, Sergio, whereas I won't be seeing insects before April, that's for sure! And this is quite a close-up of this insect, it is amazing and how interesting to see the clamps of the mouth and whatever it is doing in this place. thank you, great picture,

Francine

Hi Sergio, Good Morning MF!
An impressive macro capture of a carpenter bee from frontal pov which we could see its mouth parts in detail.
TFS and cheers,
Bayram

Hi Sergio!

While I look at your picture and read your notes, I cab hear the stormy wind blowing outside. It's a typical storm of the month of february and also a sign of the spring knocking at the door.

The picture indeed is surprising as it is quite soon for the bees to fly. The view on this insect's head is superb and the details are impressive. Just be careful with the burnt whites...

Kind regards

Markus

Hi Sergio,
