A very good exposure /metering that shows the detail in the bird's black plumages.
Good POV - the bird just take a pause and look at the photographer.
Very efficient and hard working bird - look at her works at the bare tree trunk.

Une belle image rapprochée de ce pic bois sur l'arbre et qui semble avoir repéré le photographe. Il y a des beaux oiseaux dans ta région. La prise de vue permet de voir avec précision les détails et les couleurs de l'oiseau. Le sujet est bien cadré. Merci du partage.

Hi Michel,

This is one of the birds I really would like to see. In Holland we have a black woodpecker but I prefer this one with the typical 'punky'head.

Elle est vraiment formidable cette photo, l'exposition est parfaite et montre bien le détail dans le plumage noir. La netteté est fantastique et la composition parfaite. Interesting pose as he turns the head almost 180 degrees to see what is going on..!
Fine details in the bird's plumage, and the red hat really stands out...

Hi Michel, this guy is excellent. Not only do you have great colour and you have great sharp detail on all his feathers but his pose looking back is excellent giving you a great shot of that awesome eye.
