[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
This is a relatively small shore bird that flies very fast and is difficult to focus on.
Done at Osprey Marsh, a little park 10 minutes drive from my home.

The Lesser Yellowlegs is a slender, long-legged shorebird that readily shows off the brightly colored legs that give it its name. It is an active feeder, often running through the shallow water to chase its prey.

Medium-sized shorebird.
Long, bright yellow legs.
Rather long neck and bill.
White rump and tail.

Size: 23-25 cm (9-10 in)
Wingspan: 59-64 cm (23-25 in)
Weight: 67-94 g (2.37-3.32 ounces)

Other Names
Petit chevalier (French)
Patamarilla menor (Spanish)

Difficult to focus on??? Hats off to you! You accomplished the difficult task with excellence! What a super sharp shot, and the wings down pose gives the impression that the bird is having a slow cruise above the water, just for the sheer enjoyment of it. He's on vacation...

I enjoyed this shot very much - I will make it a favorite.

Hi Mario,

Great image and very clear indeed. I particularly like the detail of the wings and you ccan see just how close these things fly to the surface of the water. Fantastic.

Kind regards,

Wow Mario, this has perfect focus and beautiful sharp detail! I think I will die if I can't save enough to buy that fab lens you use! It is superb in every way, although in flight you can see every detail on the bird and the moment captured shows of all of the plumage. Colours and tone are great and no trace of any noise, water lovely and smoooth. Wonderful shot.
