[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
This Painted Turtle was taken sun bath after staying in the mud during winter. Adult, she is herbivorous and they are omnivorous when young... This turtle was so in extatic state on the warmth of the sun that I was able to be very close to take that shot in a pond near where I work...

Hi Michel,
Excellent photo. Normally these creatures are gone when you get too close, so you were really lucky. Great colors and sharpnessand an excellent DOF.

Ahhh so nice to see. I just did about 12 of some turtles too.The shell in this is so shiny. You've got a really good POV for this, and brilliant colourings/textures.

Very interesting turtle portrait. I like how he's just balancing there on that log, with just his head sticking out. Too bad for that dark stick in the top right corner though.

Hi Michel,
wonderful subdued colours, sharp details, a well taken point of view, and a very pleasant result, quite funny to look at, too.
Lucky to get that close. Very good capture.
Thank you! Best regards,

Hi Michel,
This is a great shot with excellent composition,POV and colours.

Hello Michel,
Artistic poser! Good POV and very nice reflections and natural colours. TFS

What a poser!
I'm surprised. We have similar turtles in europe. They like to climb and sunbath. But they wouldn't put themselves in such a position where their legs can't grap anything. Look like someone placed it there.
Considering the reflection and the shadows, I think a little fill in flash would have helped.
Nice pic. Nice animal. Nice colors.

It's really interesting pose ;-D
Very good colours and composition. Also the frame is great.
