[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
I have been away for some time from TN as I have had computer problems and also needed to buy a new modem for my Internet connection, but as you can see I'm back.

This is a photo I took last year in August and is one of the first I took with my then new Canon EOS-1D Mark III camera. The subject is that of a Cedar Waxwing perched on top of a barbed wire fence. This bird and many others used the fence as a launching point to fly out and intercept flying insects, then returning to their perch only to fly out once again.I find these birds on a subjective level to be very sleek and attractive looking and rather hard to get good fine details on,that is unless they are very close by.The wax wings have just about the finest feathers of any birds that I know of and have seen and as a result have a somewhat pastel look to their colouration.I hope you like this subtle coloured bird on it's wire perch.

That's a beautiful waxwing. Bob.
Nice catchlight in the eye, a hard thing to do when there is a black band there.
Exquisitely sharp details on the feathers.
Great pose and DOF.

Hallo Bob
This is a great shot of a beautiful bird that I have seen at times before but never stop to amaze me for its beauty. The black stripe through its eyes gives it a masked appearance. Your Cedar Waxwing has some very beautiful features that is very eye-catching and real pleasant to look at. The yellow tip on the tailpiece and the red inbetween the feathers is really very striking. Kind regards
Anna
