[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
hello friends, i am continuing my series of small bird
photos in-flight, today it is the Hairy Woodpecker

photo shot in RAW, ISO400

from the All About Birds website :

http://www.birds.cornell.edu/AllAboutBirds/BirdGuide/Hairy_Woodpecker.html

« The Hairy Woodpecker shows a great deal of
morphological variation across its broad range,
with more than 17 recognized subspecies.
Northern birds tend to be larger than those farther south.
Western birds are dark underneath and have few spots
on the wings, while eastern birds are white underneath
and have extensive spotting. Hairies in the Rocky Mountains
are white below, but have few spots on their wings.
Populations on islands often are distinctive.

Across most of North America the Hairy Woodpecker
can be found at a variety of elevations from sea level
to high in the mountains. In Central America,
it is restricted to the higher mountain forests. »

Merci

Asbed

Hi Absed!
Excellent seris of birds in-fligth. It is a really difficult work.
Regards. Ferran

Hello Asbed

You have a unique in flight style that is yours.
Well done on this capture of the hairy woodpecker and any one who knows it will know it is not easy to capture in flight because of it's manner of flight.
Well done.

Hi Asbed,

another iinflight shot and this tie from an Woodpecker.
You have this bird good captured, but with a lots of purple fringe in the trees.

Gert

Hello Asbed,
You are really good at inflight shots, Asbed.Nice capture of the hairy woodpecker. It must have been really difficult to focus on the bird with so many distractions in the background.
Anyway congratulations for a job well done.;)
Regards,
Smitha.

Hard to do with that camera..I saw the model across the street, but opted out..I still am working when I can with video stills...all is okay..I shall let you sell me this one by continuing to capture so well in flight!
Bob

Hi Asbed.

Another good contribution of your in flight series and you must be lucky to have so many of them posted in sequence. Very good framing in natural setting and well done.

Hello Asbed,
I'm not sure how you capture all this inflights, but I am terrible with them. I guess I'm to slow, thanks for sharing this nice image my friend.

Hello Asbed,
I missed this in-flight capture of a Hairy Woodpecker, caught nicely from the rear with good sharpness, the tail being especially clear and showing those stiff feathers that it uses to support it when on a tree trunk.
TFS this delight,
Ivan
