Montivipera xanthina (Ottoman Viper, Ottoman Mountain Viper) [in Turk. Osmanlı Engereği, Şeritli Engerek]

As usual behaviour from me:), today I am presenting a very extreme close-up of this charismatic beauty’s head part.

The specific name of this beauty come after from the antique city, “Xanthos” (currently located near the village of Kınık in between Antalya and Muğla provinces) which was the capital city of the Lycian Federation.

TFL & Cheers,

offf... offf.. muhteşem ötesi bir çekim hocam. Çatallı diliyle harika bir portre olmuş. Ama Osmanlı'nın tüm ihtişamı yüzünden okunuyor. Emeğinize sağlık hocam.

Hi Baratom Bayram,
Congratulations for this another beautiful photo of this Montivipera xanthina! TFS.

A trully masterpiece work dayi with astonishingly details.
Muhtesemsin ne deyim:)
Eline saglik dayi.

Hello Bayram! I really hope that we are not gone see tomorrow this beauty again! Yesterdays presentation was sufficient enough, in my opinion. The POV of this shot can be taken in much lower angle and the dept of field can be shortened drastically in order to take our attention straight into the Snake head. I would suggest, f/5.6 or f/8 the golden spot! In my opinion the colors seems a bit washed and the use of fill in flash somehow harsh. Good sharpness and interesting notes about this lovely creature, friend Bayram. Well since your dramatic comeback definitely your photography is in on a higher level. However today, i think that a single point from me is justifiable for the hard work in this presentation! Have a lovely evening and keep on practicing MF.That's what I do as well!

Hello Bayram,
Wonderful close up portrait of this beauty showing great detail of it's head and eye. Nice work my friend.

Hi litle bro,

another good shot from these snake with good pov and dof.
Fine colours.

Hocam:) arkadaş yine yapmış yapacağını. Bir de kendi çekse de görsek. Çektiği ev yılanı detaydan yoksun:) anlaşılan sizle uğraşmayı bırakmayacak. Ama bence en güzelini yapıyor dikkate almıyorsunuz. Delirdikçe deliriyor:)
Emeğinize sağlık hocam.

Very educative work hocam. We can see the diagnostic feature of the Ottoman viper here. The supraocular plates are visible greatly.
Kind regards.

Hola Bayram,

Ciao BBB. Very good details on head but less DOF details of the previous MF but I see the difficultied in frotn of this dangerous beauty. Impressive tongue in movement and good light management.

Ciao Amico Bayram, an other great capture of wonderful mountivipera, good natural colors, splendid sharpness and fine details, very well done, ciao Silvio

Merhaba MF Prof Bayram,
the name viper is already scary for me, what more with the black tongue seen so clearly.
Very nice details and excellent view of the frontsl of the viper.
i like seeing the pattern where i believe camouflaging works pretty well with this snake.

Merhabalar sayın hocam,
göz temasıyla harika olmuş,
dilini çok güzel yakalamışsınız.
Mükemmel bir çalışma,
En güzel dileklerimle hoşcakalın.

Merhaba Bayram,
Superb close-up of the Ottoman Viper, the head being captured with fine sharpness, colours and timing to show the forked tongue picking up scent to see how you the photographer is interpreted by Jacobson's organ!
Excellent use of flash to allow the high aperture.
Great to view!
Thanks and have a nice W/E
