Dear friends,

Thanks for your kind comments/critiques on my previous -300th- posting:)

Today a spider species belonging to the family of Lycosidae (Wolf Spiders) which i captured it near the Turkish-Syrian border in Kilis province (the west of SE Anatolia). However I do not have the exact id of this medium-sized (approx. 2.5 cm) spider so i will be happy if my TN friends or others can update me on the exact name.

Have a nice Sunday and TFL!
Cheers,

Bayram

Wolf spiders are robust and agile hunters, and have good eyesight. They live mostly solitary lives and hunt alone. Some are opportunistic wanderer hunters, pouncing upon prey as they find it or chasing it over short distances. Others lie in wait for passing prey, often from or near the mouth of a burrow.

Very well done.

Hello Bayram,
An impressive spider, nicely photographed in its habitat. At least I guess it's its habitat.
Very well composed. Good light and an effective depth.
I don't know whether you can also differentiate spider species through that difficult word you explained concerning genes and DNA?
Well done!

Merhaba Bayram,

Hi L'il Brother,

I was waiting for a new post from you!! This is some spider. I'm glad you mentioned his size in your notes because I was curious about that. Of course I had to get out my tape measure to see what 2.5 would be. I'll never learn the metric system! Great shot with such natural colors and good details. I love those legs!

Jane

Hello Bayram,
a well-focused and sharp picture of the spider with great depth of field.
The specimen is hard to detect on the similarly coloured ground.
Identification is not easy. In Middle-Europe, there are some similar species such as
Xerolycosa nemoralis or species of the genus Alopecosa.
Best wishes, Peter

A supern macro of some species of Wolf Spider, the POV, focusing and composition being perfect to show us most of its features with fine clarity and lighting.
It looks like a species of Pardosa.

But the picture lokks great of course - nothing new, as all your pictures look great ! :-) I specially love the pose of the spider and the colors, but the details are excellent too, as well as the composition.
