The Cyprus Discovery presents you the Red-backed shrike. The Red-backed shrike is one of the birds found in Cyprus. Its scientific name is Lanius collurio and its Greek name is Aetomachos. It is a small to medium size bird which its height is 16 -18 cm. It has a wingspan of 24 -27 cm. The Red-backed shrike is eating with insects, beetles and small reptiles. We find it in areas with bare soil or short grass, bushes and small trees where it can find and hunt its prey easier.

An excellent composition and POV here.Very good DOF, color, exposure, and sharp detail. I like the slightly grey/blue color of the BG sky also.Very well done.

What an attractive presentation showing this beautiful Red-backed Shrike in a striking pose. I like the wonderful eye contact you managed to capture with a tad bit of catchlight. Very pretty markings while displaying wonderful earth toned colors. The composition is great and I especially like the clean BG. Great job!!
