All is well in Ukraine except the governance :). First of all I mean our Nature. This year I visit our countryside garden very seldom but every time I take many shots. I never cease to marvel at the 24 MP crop-camera capabilities. Even using regular standard cheap zoom lens I can get well detailed close-up (shared shot is decently downsized crop).

Thanks to my wife, which spends much time in the garden, there are many blossoming flowers there and beautiful visitors. It is a great area for my photo hobby.

I like to picture insects on cultivated flowers so much. I think such flowers are an excellent place for many attractive scenes and stories. This one is very calm despite the others that I have.

Now I introduce a nice specimen of Rose chafer, which loves our flowers as I love them.

See info about the species, for example, here: Cetonia aurata.

Hello Alexei, Hope you and your family are doing well in these troubling times.
I see your wife is keeping you busy photographing these interesting and beautiful insects. I'm sure they may not seem so beautiful to you when they start eating your plants:)
Great job on this particular shot, as the beetle can be seen in exceptional detail and gorgeous natural colors. It reminds me a lot of the Japanese beetles which love to invade my wifes flower garden.

Hi Alexei. Great shot. Perfectly clear and strong rich colours. I think it should be framed better though. The bug is too centered I think. The perfect amount of light. The many colours on the bugs shell are fantastic. Your high Mega Pixel shots are well worth it if you keep getting great shots like this one. Have a nice day. Trevor

Privet Alexei,
I haven't seen you here recently, but I hope everything's fine with you and your family. This macro shot of rose chafer is very spectacular, sharpness and details are perfect on the insect, as well as colors and depth of field. For me the foreground is a little too much, and I had cropped a little from left also to off-center the subject more, but the 1st one is based on personal feelings mostly. Nice, clear capture overall. Bravo.
Best regards from your Hungarian / Irish friend, László
