Two images for the price of one this time :)
For both shots I did have the Nikon TC17E II Tele extender attached between lens and camera.

Between shooting locations is more than 6000 miles wich is impossible to mention both in the description and therefore I located this double image at my home in Groningen, the Nederlands were I did put them both in one frame :)

Shutter Speed and F-Stop are the same for both images and ISO Speed Rating was 400.

Shot of the White Tailed Eagle, on the left side, I did take June 2006 traveling a board a small ship through the fjords of the Province of Nord Trondelag in Norway
Shot of the Bald Eagle, on the right side, I did take March 2007 standing on the beach of Katchemak Bay near a town called Homer in Alaska.

Eagles, does'nt matter if it's a white tailed or bald, do often fly around for more than an hour looking for something to eat in the water or on the ground.

During this time it's very easy to follow them with the camera because the often do fly slowly on the wind.
However when they do see something down there, they turn around very quickly to attach the prey as soon as possibly.
When I say quickly, I really do maen quickly (within a split second) and it's best to have the camera sett to the highest frame setting because otherwise you can be sure you will miss the turn they make.

My camera always is sett to 5 frames per second and even than I did miss quit a lot of movements of the eagles during my shootings.

Thanks in advance for viewing and comments.

Kindest regards and have a nice weekend,

Harry

Hello Harry,
Nice double photos!
Great bit of digital photographic artistry showing both species of sea eagle doing aerobatic turns. Both these sharp and excellent images also show the differences between these related species, which makes this posting both interesting and a joy to see.
TFS and have a nice weekend,
Ivan

Hi Harry
This is really nice presentation of this two eagles in their beautiful pose. As you already said two images for the price of one and two points from me :)

Great idea! Interesting comparison!

nice comparison. good colors and focus shots are too small of course as individual ones but they do clearly show the differences. nice symetry too.

Hi Harry
Great idea! the compo is just perfect, lovely to have two toned sky.
The White-tailed is a bit soft but not a problem in this compo.
You may know that some very old White-tailed Eagles get almost white-headed, but I was not aware that Bald Eagles are so much darker. Very interesting comparison!

Very nice balanced and informative presentation. I like the symmetry provided by the similar wing position of each inflight eagle.

Hi Harry,
Fantastic double shot presentation of two different birds of prey. I like the different coloured sky and the almost similar postures and wing position. The images are sharp and much detailed with outstanding focus. Excellent POVs and the portrayal of the different features is marvellously done. Very nicely composed and presented. Kudos.
