Hi Lou,
Kon hem niet vinden in mijn boek, maar na even zoeken op internet toch gevonden: De Dark Blue Tiger, Tirumala septentrionis. Geen twijfel mogelijk.
Erg mooie foto weer. Super scherp en schitterende kleuren. Goede diepte in de foto. Uitstekende compositie.

Hope life is good with the butterflies. What a classic shot! The image is amazing as far as clarity, sharpness and colours go. The angle is perfect, the wings look splendid, the background wonderful, the marks prominent...what a shot!

Hello Lou

This is a common butterfly from India. Actually this is a Tirumala Limniace i.e. the Blue Tiger and not dark blue tiger. Very close resemblance to the dark blue tiger but markings and colouring is little different. Typically in this position the wings are not flat but little curved like a cup. So superb DOF to get the entire body in sharp focus.
