|Hi TN Friends|
Am back after a break. Presenting to you an aerial view of Greenland. I shot this while flying over the Arctic region, much to the annoyance of the flight crew, who kept telling me to keep the window shutters closed as fellow passengers were getting disturbed in sleep. How can one sleep and miss this wonderful scenic beauty is something I just couldn't comprehend!!.
The land forms, the frozen water can be clearly distinguished. it was a little after midnight when this picture was taken.
And now, a small note from Wikipaedia..
About 81 percent of Greenland's surface is covered by the Greenland ice sheet. The weight of the ice has depressed the central land area into a basin shape, whose base lies more than 300 metres (984 ft) below the surrounding ocean. Elevations rise suddenly and steeply near the coast. Approximately one-twentieth of the world's ice and one-quarter of the earth's surface ice is found in Greenland.
I am sorry that the location that i had to choose to upload this picture is so misleading. There is no "Greenland" mentioned in the Country list.
TFL. Hope you had a great weekend.

Excellent and you have compensated for missing in the TN so far. Clear and just super clear. I was wondering what is the airline using to keep the windows clean that allows you to take a clear shot. Superb composition and steady camera holding. No shake and all clear. Good work ganesh
You have captured the view which had been my favorite during trans-Atlantic flight always. Good candid shot; reminds me of what I had been seeing in India also while visiting Leh by air. You may see few of them in my gallery. TFS.
