On a hike yesterday we came by a nature protection area in a valley of Rothaargebirge, a low mountain range in southern Westphalia. Here in an altitude of about 500 metres in the forests still patches of snow were visible, the brownish grass was pressed down from snow which had disappeared only some days ago, the forest ground was covered only with autumn foliage, some puddles still were covered with ice from last night (-6°C) - but in this late winter scenery thousands of little white bells were swinging in the still cold wind.

Their name is "Leucojum vernum", in German "Märzenbecher" (~ March's cup), in English "snowflake", in French "Nivéole de printemps". They only grow at very wet meadows or similar places in deciduous forests. The plant in Germany is stricly protected by law and there are voluntary guards who keep an eye on them.
These little bells were a real feast for the eyes ...

erstklassiger Schuß - gefällt mir sehr.
Welches Objektiv hast Du verwendet?
Ich habe heute auch schon das gleiche versucht - mit dem neuen Sigma 10-20. Blume gegen Himmel aber nur mit mäßigem Erfolg, Dein Ergebnis gefällt mir weitaus besser.

Hallo Frank,
Wie hübsch und erfrischend dieses Märzenbecher-Bild. Auch finde ich Dein Blickwinkel sehr interessant, zeigt den "Becher" sehr schön und dazu wird der fein-blaue Himmel auch schön ins Bild integriert.

Bonjour Frank,
La publication est intéressante, surtout si l'on s'imagine les conditions de prise de vue, mais l'opposition du sujet sur le ciel bleu n'est pas très judicieuse car elle ne procure pas suffisament de contraste et rend difficile la maitrise des hautes lumières empêchant l'appréciation de la finesse de certains détails.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.
