Identification
The male has dark brown-black wingtips with blue veins. Immature insects often have much paler, browner wings. They have metallic blue-green bodies and blue-green eyes.
The female has dark brown iridescent wings, a white patch near the tip of the wings and a metallic green body with a bronze tip of the abdomen. |

you show us fine details of the female Calopteryx virgo with great sharpness.
The specimen stands out nicely against the super-smooth background.

This should have got more attention! Ok so there is a bad hot spot of burnt out grass stem at the bottom, but otherwise its a quality shot so well done and thanks for sharing!

Bon, je vais critiquer de manière constructive, surtout ne pas y voir une attaque personnelle:
- Je suis d'accord avec la critique précédente, la tige sous la libellule est sur exposée. C'est la seule chose qu'on puisse reprocher à la qualité de cette prise de vue.
- Par contre, j'ai encore un souci sur la composition de l'image, n'était il pas possible de rendre cette photo moins statique ?
