Le syrphe porte-plume est un des plus beaux syrphes, avec de délicates marques jaunes. Le mâle est facile à identifier, avec son abdomen long et fin. Vous pouvez voir une photo d’un mâle prise l’an dernier, avec le Sygma 70-300 lens.
La femelle a un abdomen élargi au milieu et se terminant en pointe, comme ici. Mais l’identification exacte des femelles dans ce genre reste difficile. Une des caractéristiques de S. scripta est la longueur des ailes : plus courtes que l’abdomen. C’est le cas ici (J’ai une autre photo où c’est davantage évident). S. scripta est aussi la plus commune du genre. C’est pourquoi je suppose qu’il s’agit de S. scripta.

Hi Catherine. You had a very good year with insects . I hope i am able to get out more next year . Not being able to drive for a while has made it very differcult. This is a fine close up of this hoverfly. I like the pose with its head inside the flower. Taken with good detail and natural colours. well taken TFS.

Magnificent set, the quality of the colors and sharpness are worthy of being celebrated. The background is homogeneous and perfectly adequate for the contrast with the insect. Very good management of exposure to avoid overexposure the flower; it was certainly difficult.
