Xylota segnis (Linnaeus, 1758)
Family: Syrphidae

Ce syrphe se rencontre souvent sur les feuilles, dans les haies et les bois. Ils se nourrit des sécrétions mielleuses des aphides et peut lècher la surface des feuilles. On le trouve rarement sur des fleurs. Il se reproduit dans les bois en décomposition.
Période de vol: avril à 4 novembre.

Once more superb macro shot from you. I like fantastic sharpness and details of the hoverfly. Every hair of the legs and body is visible perfectly. Texture of the leaf are reflected so amazingly. My compliments and TFS. Excellent job.

This is a superb macro!
The focusing from a fine POV is spot on to show its features with excellent sharpness. The lighting and colours add to make this a top class portrayal of X. segnis, a new species of hoverfly for TN.
