Syritta pipiens (Linnaeus 1758)
Famille: Syrphidae

Syritta pipiens est un syrphe européen très commun. Il se distingue par ses fémurs postérieurs enflés. Il a un vol très rapide.
La larve se trouve, souvent en grand nombre dans des matières organiques humides en décomposition, y compris le compost, les bouses de vaches, mais pas dans les étangs ni les mares.

Salut Catherine,et bien tu as trouve' une riche collection d'insects sur ces fleurs blancs,cette Syrphide est selon moi la plus belle de cette petite galerie,les dessins et les couleurs sont tres agreables,encore une fois une photo d'une qualite super et tres tres difficile! This species looks very original thanks to its hind legs. I think this is the first time I see this species. Very nic e documentary photo with nice for looking details. As for me maybe a little too much free space is above the insect, but it is a really small thing.

Hi Catherina.
Your close-up is simply great. How well you have reproduced tiniest details of the fly. How well white flowers are exposed. Magnification ratio is very impressive and a bit soft lighting is amazing. Well done. My compliments and TFS.

Hello Catherine,
that's a marvel, Catherine. The buggers are small and nervous I remember, but you even rendered the bristles on the bristles (aristae) all sharp. The monstrosity becomes a nice, interesting fly that way. Glorious!
