The Red-necked Wallaby (Macropus rufogriseus) is a medium-sized macropod, common in the more temperate and fertile parts of eastern Australia. As one of the largest wallabies, it can easily be mistaken for a kangaroo. Males can weigh more than 20 kg and attain a head-body length of 90 cm.

Red-necked Wallabies are distinguished by their black nose and paws, white stripe on the upper lip, and grizzled medium grey coat with a reddish wash across the shoulders.

Taken in captivity, more specific in the 'Olmense zoo'.

Thanks for looking and a nice day,evening,...:-)

Hi Annick
Another great portrait of beautiful mammal. Delicate homogenous buckground.

Peaceful moment.

These green color looks like the green in a park from Blow Up (film by Antonioni) But these time it is a natural green. Antonioni ordered to paint the park becouse he didnt like the natural green :-)

I like it very much

Work of a fine subject with wonderful notes and gear to boot. I did a second take when I saw it was taken at a zoo. You have put it back into it's natural setting. Make sure to send it a copy of the picture!

Good one again! Great pose and very natural setting! Looks like a young one to me! Great detail in the fur - and those claws - they don't look like you want to get in contact with...
Well done! Cheers, Klaus

Hi Annick,
What a beauty. I mean both the photo and the Wallaby. You really captured him in a wonderful delicate pose. Love the soft green OOF BG and the perfect details in his coat. The OOF leaves in the FG does give the photo depth and the photo a nice base to stand on.
TFS,
Niek

What a cute little guy, Annick.
I like his expression, with his head turned and his tiny hands hanging up front.
Great light and sharp details on this furry one.
I love the color and texture of the BG.
TFS. : )

Encore une superbe photo avec tant de détail et des animaux difficiles à prendre, avec un superbe BG.

Hello Annick,

This is a very beautiful picture of a great technical quality! The square format fits the composition perfectly. I like the wallaby's pose looking back towards the center of the frame. By using the vegetation as a foreground, the subject as a middleground and the blurred background you added lots of perspective to your shot. I am already redundant if saying how sharp the picture is. Outstanding job! Thank you!

With Friendly Regards,
Eddie
