[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
Covering hundreds of thousands of square miles, the Mongolian Steppe is the final vast grassland ecosystem left on the plant. This wildly diverse grassland forms a crescent around the Gobi desert and spills over into China both Russia (although the it is least disturbed in Mongolia). It is home to over a million Mongolian gazelles in addition to several other species such as the Corsac fox, Gray Wolves, innumerable birds of prey, the Brown-eared pheasant, and Bobak marmots.

Hi Jeff

I was in Mongolia in 2002 - but in the centre, W and SW. INteresting viwe of this rolling prairie with nice evidence of erosion and deposition.

Best wishes

Hi Jeff,
It certainly looks different right now. They have a lot of snow and cattle and humans are dying from starvation. I do hope for them that soon they can see this vast open grassland again. The softness of the entire photo in color and texture suits the mood of the photo perfectly.

amazing landscape, TFS Ori
