[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
A male Mongolian gazelle (Procapra gutturosa) from 'behind'.

These nomadic gazelles inhabit the vast Eastern Steppe of Mongolia (with a small subpopulation in the West, and overhunted on-the-brink populations in China and Russia). Sometimes aggregating in herds up to 250,000 (Olson et al., 2009), these gazelles can run at a sustained 45 k.p.h. for several kilometers when threatened.

This is a good sized male. Females and juveniles lack the horns and are, not-surprisingly, smaller in size.

*Image may be a bit over-saturated...what do you think?

Hi Jeff,

I don't think the image is oversaturated - but it seems like overexposed. You've had quite an unfortunate situation: the animal turned back to You, and You had to shoot against the Sun. So, no surprise the result isn't fully pleasing, although You tried Your best.

Best regards from Hungary (Europe), László

Jeff,

Not something we see much here. Exilent capture. I often try and shoot birds and end up with this less than flattering veiw. For the subject. The saturation looks fine, I might have darked just a little.
