[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
Honestly, I am not good in macro shot. But willing to try. So here it is. In our local language, we call this "Borong-borong" This one is the male. The female is brown and has no sting. The male does even not as hurt as the bee.

Camera : Nikon D70s
Lens : Sigma 70-300mm f4-5.5 DL Macro Super
Filter : UV
Shutter speed : 1/60s

Cool shot!

HI Yan,
I like this interesting insect - very impressive eyes. Is it a big insect?
When I visited Lake Toba year ago I say an insect - like a very big bumble-bee flying but never had the chance to know what it was.
The Indonesian People there had a lot of respect of this insect - almost as big as a pink-ponk-ball. Thanks for your shot, you brought nice memories back to my phantastic holidays in Sumatra, thanks and bye
