Description
The species of the lubentina group of the genus Euthalia are instantly recognisable by their greenish colouring and red spotting. The female of this species, shown here, has a white band across both wings. The forelegs are reddened in the males.

Habitat & Habits
The Green Baron is a relatively rare butterfly in Singapore and is not often encountered. The males are more often seen, usually feeding on the blooms of flowering plants like the Singapre Rhododenron, Ixora and Lantana in urban parks as well as in the nature reserves.

The butterflies are robust and are difficult to capture as they are alert and fly rapidly. This species is believed to feed on Loranthus.
