[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
Papilio polytes, the common Mormon, is a common species of swallowtail butterfly widely distributed across Asia.
The female of the species is a good mimic of the Common Rose. As the Common Mormon is not impalatable to birds, the female mimics the poisonous Common Rose for protection from its predators.

Hi Pushkar,it's s pity that the butterfly is so dark, but not easy to take a good pic in this bad light, maybe you will try with flash the next time. A lovely specie with a magnificent design,i like it! Have a nice week and thanks,Luciano. Take a look to my WS if you like....

Hello Pushkar,
First the Blue Mormon and now this lovely Common, two very pretty specimens. Due to its coal black color it is difficult to see much detail in its wings, but the white markings are quite beautiful.
The butterflies are all gone for the season here in Ohio so this is a refreshing sight for the eyes.
