Southern Red Bishop: Breeding Plumage
|[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe|
|I have captured this 'Southern Red Bishop' (Euplectes orix) in Marivale Bird Sanctuary, Nigel. |
It was a windy day and sunlight was bit harsh. When bird was sitting on the reed, it was tossing madly in wind, so to me it wasn't a pleasant atmosphere and needed perfect timing (tried to capture without a single reed crossed over its body) to get undisturbed clear picture of this bird. Lke this beautiful coloured bird; glittering orange and it is his breeding plumage.

Ciao Srikumar, great capture of lovely bird in nice pose, fantastic colors, fine details and splendid sharpness, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio
Excellent photo of this bird in its breeding plumage, fine POV and
appropriate vertical framing, the catch-light enhance the photo
by rendering it more beautiful, TFS

Hi Srikumar,a difficult pic today, the bird was very distant and the position too isn't easy..so the result is good but not the best talking about the sharpness, but still good, and this rare specie is always welcome on the gallery. Have a nice Sunday and thanks,Luciano

What a unique looking bird you have presented to us. I love its bright orange cap that reminds me of a football helmet. Good eye contact with just a glint of catchlight visible.
The focus is quite impressive considering the bird was waving back and forth due to the wind. Nice BG.
