Five Ethiopian Wolves (Canis simensis). These are from a population of ~50 that reside on the Guassa Plateau in the Ethiopian Highlands (south and east of the Simien Mountains).
Considered the rarest canid species in the world, there are less than 500 left. All are found in isolated populations in the Ethiopian Highlands, the largest being in Bale Mountains National Park south of Addis Ababa. |
