[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
Brown Parrot (Poicephalus Meyeri)

Medium sized parrot, brown above with contrasting yellow shoulders and (sometimes)patch on crown, breast brown, abdomen bluish green.

In low fast flight, shows conspicuous blue-green rump and yellow underwing coverts. Immature as adult, but yellow absent on crown, reduced in wing. Calls are raucous screams and shrieks, including distinctive 2-note sound, apparently given in duet by pair.

Found in pairs or small parties, foraging in dense canopies, sometimes perching conspicuously, wary, shy often retiring, betrayed by calls.

Range and habitat: From Angola and Botswana north-east to south eastern Zaire, East Africa and Ethiopia, also Sudan and Chad. Common or locally so in wooded areas and open country with scattered large trees.

Photo taken at Krugersdorp nature reserve.

Hello Leon,
This is a good sharp close of the Brown Parrot and you deserve credit for that but I thought that it was a bit too bright so I've taken it to the workshop to see if it can be improved.
TFS, regards, Ivan

Hi Leon,
nice clear shot of this Parrot,
you should have refrained from dropping tightly from the front (the right) as it disbalances the proportions.
good work :)
Cheers,
Vishal Sabharwal

Hi Leon,
Very sharp with excellent plumage detail.
Very good DOF and color, with the exposure handled well also. Perhaps a bit more room at the head would be better in IMHO.
Nicely done & TFS!

A different parrot with unusual colors, Leon.
I rather like his combination of subtle hues.
Good POV, though I wish there were more space in front of him.
Sharp details and good light.
TFS. : )

Hi Leon

Great image. Perfect catchlight, great pose, lovely colours. Very nice work. :-)

Haven't seen this species before TFS.

Good capture and nice and sharp with good details. Well exposed.
Good eye contact and blurred background.

Leon,
Once again as in my previous critique a great sharpness displayed here.
Cropping IMO a bit tight but this is hardly a critique..
