Voici un papillon que j’ai photographié à Madagascar lors d’un arrêt du train Fianarantsoa – Manakara. D’après son aspect, il fait partie de la famille des Nymphalidae et de la sous-famille des Nymphalinae. Merci à batu de m'avoir déterminé cette espèce. Vous pouvez voir les faces supérieures et inférieures du male et de la femelle ici.
Ce papillon est endémique de Madagascar.

Here is a butterfly photographed at Madagascar during a stopping of the Fianarantsoa - Manakara train. According to its aspect, it belongs to the Nymphalidae family and of the Nymphalinae subfamily. Unfortunately, Thanks to batu for the determination of this specie. You can see the upper and lower faces of the male and of the female here.
This is an endemic butterfly of Madagascar.

Hi JeanPierere,
Lovely image of this one, which for you opened its wings completely to show how beautiful it is. what a great design by nature. The image is colorful, sharp and with pleasing BG. Vertical frame would have avoided the dried leaf/stem (right side). TFS

Bonjour JeanPierre,
this is a nice picture and specimen of a female Junonia andremiaja (Family: Nymphalidae).
The male looks quite different and is even spectacular. I could observe the species at several sites in Madagascar.
